Resources for Cultivating a Generous Church
Imagine a pastor uttering Moses’ command, “Stop giving!” because the people have brought more than enough for the Lord’s work. Imagine a church fully funded without elaborate fund-raisers or coercive appeals. Imagine a congregation joyfully encouraging one another toward ever-increasing, lavish giving—a church that mirrors Jesus’ ultimate sacrificial generosity.
Does a generous church seem beyond imagination? For too long, we have assumed that good stewardship is achieved through artful campaigns or emotional pleas. Rather, it is the power of the gospel that can free people from their hold on wealth and fill them with the joy of giving. Generous Giving is calling pastors to preach that “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35b).
Does preaching stewardship sound scary? Pastor Andy Stanley says, “Take heart!” God will grow the faith and joy of your congregation as you preach, teach, celebrate and apply generosity. Let Generous Giving help.
